Spoon/Handsome Furs Offshoot Divine Fits Announce First Live Shows, Play Montreal

Since Divine Fits announced their formation in May, the Spoon and Handsome Furs offshoot have announced not only their upcoming "My Love Is Real" / "I Was Born in a Laundromat" seven-inch, but a full-length LP that will drop by the fall. Despite all that material, the band have yet to play a show. That will change by August, though, as the trio have just announced their first-ever live performances.

A press release from the group's U.S. label Merge has confirmed the act will play a trio of shows this summer, with the first taking place August 1 in Austin, TX. Canadian fans can check the group out August 3 in Montreal, while the tour wraps August 6 in Columbus, OH.

The tour is being promoted as hitting each member's hometowns, with Boeckner covering Montreal, drummer and New Bomb Turks alum Sam Brown repping Columbus, and Spoon founder Britt Daniel hailing from Austin.

A fall show has also been announced at San Francisco's Outside Lands on October 14.

Fans residing in each of the first three tour stops might want to hit their local record stores on July 31 when the "My Love Is Real" / "I Was Born in a Laundromat" hits shelves, as limited copies will contain "special golden tickets" that will grant free entry into the respective gigs. You can find out more info here.

As previously reported, Divine Fits' debut LP A Thing Called Divine Fits drops August 28 through Merge/Universal Music Canada.

Tour dates:

8/1 Austin, TX - Beerland

8/3 Montreal, QC - Il Motore

8/6 Columbus, OH - Ace of Cups
10/14 San Francisco, CA - Outside Lands
