Spoon Release Special Playing Cards

Did we miss the memo that today is Ridiculous Merch Day? So far, Nick Cave has revealed a set of toys while !K7 unveiled their line of DJ trading cards. Wanting a piece of the action, indie pop mainstays Spoon have issued a wacky new product of their own.

Specifically, the group have unveiled a new collection of Spoon-themed playing cards. The 56-card deck was designed by artists Matthew Jacobsen and Camilo Medina and manufactured by the U.S. Playing Card Company for "casino-quality" results.

On top of the standard 52 cards, the deck includes two "R.I.P." cards (in place of Jokers), a double-backed two-tone card and another that features all four suits. In other words, in addition to a game of Go Fish you can also use the Spoon cards to grift people or pull off some magic tricks.

Spoon's playing cards are available here. Thanks to Pitchfork for the tip.
