Soundgarden

"Rusty Cage" (live on 'Jools Holland')

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 7, 2012

You likely know that reunited Seattle grungers Soundgarden have a new album called King Animal coming out. Before you get too immersed in the set, though, let's not forget the rest of the troupe's legacy. For instance, a recent performance on Later... with Jools Holland casts a backwards glance with a rip-roaring performance of Badmotorfinger opener "Rusty Cage," and you can peep it down below.

The song still holds up over 20 years after its release, with Kim Thayil and Chris Cornell's doubled-up take on that beastly, detuned six-string lick barrelling towards you full speed. Though the band's spirits seem a little low, as if those dogs really aren't lookin' for their bones, it's still a pretty killer take on the classic cut.

Check it out below.

As previously reported, King Animal arrives November 13 via Four Entertainment/Universal Republic.
