Okay, so it's not quite as guest-heavy as Rich Aucoin's We're All Dying to Live, but Montreal eclectic Socalled's 2011 album Sleepover features a hefty 34 contributing musicians, including pianist Chilly Gonzales, ECHO Songwriting Prize winner Katie Moore, and others. For a taste of that quirky album, out now through Dare to Care Records, here's a video for the single "Work with What You Got."
The eclectic bubblegum rap tune features verses from hip-hop pioneer Roxanne Shanté and calypso singer Mighty Sparrow, which are interspersed with quirky horn breaks from Romani trumpeter Boban Markovic. The accompanying clip shows a handful of one-of-a-kind kids (a girl with diorama city on her head, a moss-covered boy, a three-faced girl) dancing around with Socalled and celebrating their individuality.
In case you missed the clip for his previous single "Sleepover," watch it here.
