Snow White's Poison Bite's new full-length, Featuring: Dr. Gruesome and the Gruesome Gory Horror Show, sounds like a result of a mad scientist experiment by the titular cover star. Far from being a successful test, however, the album is a desperate amalgamation of non-soluble influences. Awkwardly placed Cradle of Filth-esque keyboard parts are thrown against pop-punk/rock and the occasional nu-metal riff. Meanwhile, singer "Jeremy Thirteenth" sounds like he had his nostrils plugged with helium during the recording process. That the band feel the need to throw in random breakdowns only serves to emphasize their gimmick status. The group's makeup and the Michale Graves cameo are dead giveaways of their Misfits obsession, even if the music isn't. But, come on, guys, even Glenn Danzig hasn't fallen this low into the depths of parody.
