Sled Island's Cancellation, the Sadies' Return and the Most Anticipated Albums of the Summer in Our News Roundup

It was a big week of ups and downs here in the Exclaim! newsroom, and of course, there was more than a few things to report. So if you're looking to get back up to speed, here are just a few of our top stories.

First up, it's been a devastating week in Alberta, which has been plagued by some of the worst flooding the province has ever seen. One of the casualties was unfortunately the annual Calgary music festival Sled Island, which was forced to cancel all its remaining shows just two days into the event. Our hearts at Exclaim! go out to all those affected by the disaster.

In other Canadian music news, Quebec's Amnesia Rockfest didn't exactly go down so smoothly last week, with the festival being criticized by many. But in better news, Toronto country kings the Sadies announced they are returning with a new album, as did Rae Spoon and Madchild. Plus, Drake announced a massive North American tour with Miguel and Future.

South of the border, we had Jay-Z revealing his new LP Magna Carta, Joe Pernice's Scud Mountain Boys rolling out their first record in nearly two decades, Jon Spencer speaking to Exclaim! about a new Blues Explosion EP and the return of Heavy Trash, and Oneohtrix Point Never signing to Warp for R Plus 7.

Finally, since we just marked the first day of a new season, we've compiled our 20 most anticipated albums of the summer.
