Skratch Bastid and Cosmo Baker 'Songs We Listened to a Lot in 2012' mix
Published Jan 14, 2013We may be a couple weeks deep into 2013, but Skratch Bastid and Cosmo Baker are still celebrating the tunes they showcased during DJ sets last year via their tellingly titled new mix, Songs We Listened to a Lot in 2012.
The pair have wrangled together a number of notable tracks, from Kendrick Lamar's "Backseat Freestyle" to Miguel's "Adorn" to Killer Mike's "Reagan," into a three-hour mix. That said, the mixers also sidle in some old cuts from the likes of Beastie Boys and Paul McCartney and Wings, noting that the collection reflects all the tracks they listened to in 2012, regardless of vintage.
"Prince is a constant, and his music is always with me, and 'She's Always in My Hair' is from 1985 but it still made the top 20 of 2012," Cosmo said in a statement of the Purple One's appearance on the setlist.
