SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival will be shining a light on vocal music once again this year, with "Canada's premier a cappella festival" set to take place this spring.

The seventh annual event will be held from May 23 to June 3 at various venues around Toronto, with a range of club shows, free concerts, and educational workshops for singers of all ages and experience.

Acts playing the festival this year include Rockapella, the House Jacks, Toronto Northern Lights Chorus, Cadence and Retrocity, among others.

"A cappella music is experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity," SING! executive director Lynn McGuigan said in a statement. "Over the past decade, the number of North Americans taking part in group singing has gone up by almost 50 percent, and there's been a significant increase in university a cappella groups and a cappella festivals worldwide.

"I look forward to being a part of SING! as Torontonians experience the greatest musical instrument in the world — the naked voice — in every genre."

Festival concerts promise to span an array of genres, including pop, rock, jazz, classical, barbershop, world, gospel, folk, live looping and beat boxing.

Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now here at the festival's website, where you can learn more about all the events and acts in store for the event.
