Not long after completing a North American tour this past fall, Icelandic post-rock titans Sigur Rós have announced plans to return to the continent for an additional leg of live dates this coming spring.
A press release reveals that the group will continue performing as a trio as they had been on the recent run, "eschewing the string, brass, and other auxiliary musicians that have been a hallmark of live performances the past decade."
The new tour leg will also be primarily made up of theatre shows, ensuring an intimate performance. Foregoing supporting acts, the band will play two career-spanning sets with an intermission, starting each show at 8 p.m. sharp.
While the band will primarily stick to playing in the United States, a quick trip to Canada will see them play north of the border to round out the month of May. They'll play Toronto's Echo Beach on May 28 before heading to Montreal's Place des Arts on May 30.
