Sigur Rós Singer Jónsi Birgisson Celebrates Solo LP with North American Tour, Plays Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal

BY Josiah HughesPublished Feb 3, 2010

As previously reported, Sigur Rós ringleader Jónsi Birgisson has been hard at work on his solo debut. The album, which has the cover above and is simply called Go, is slated for release on XL Recordings on March 23. We also reported that a world tour would follow the album's release, and Jónsi has kindly laid out the first batch of dates.

Like all good things, the tour starts in Canada with a pair of Vancouver shows on March 6 and 7. From there, Jónsi will head south for some U.S. shows, including a stop at Coachella. Towards the end of the tour, he'll pop into Canada again for two shows in Toronto and a Montreal appearance.

For the last few weeks, Jónsi has been posting photos of the tour to his Flickr page. By the looks of it, this is going to be a stimulating live show, so be sure to get tickets as soon as you can.
