Shooting Guns Treat 'WolfCop' Score to Vinyl Release via One Way Static, Premiere New Tracks

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Sep 2, 2014

After hearing Shooting Guns' score for lycanthropic horror-comedy WolfCop in cinemas earlier this year, the Saskatoon hard rock crew's contributions will be served up this fall via soundtrack specialists One Way Static, in conjunction with RidingEasy Records/CineCoup.

While the release had been hinted at a few months back, a press release now confirms vinyl copies will pop up on September 20 at the MondoCon in Austin, as well as L.A.'s Beyond Fest (September 25 to October 5). Then any leftover copies will be sold through the One Way Static site in Europe and via Light in the Attic in North America in mid-October.

The limited pressing pops up in a run of 1,000 copies on red and blue marbled vinyl and comes housed in a gatefold jacket featuring exclusive art from illustrator Randy Ortiz. You can see the cover above. It also comes with a download card.

The digital version, meanwhile, lands on iTunes on September 16 over here, while a cassette version is also popping up for Cassette Store Day (September 27), housed in an old-school clamshell case. Four hundred copies of the tape are being pressed up for the event and will be sold exclusively through participating stores before leftovers are brought to the One Way Static web store.

One Way Static is also pressing the previously announced Surf Nazis Must Die on tape for Cassette Store Day. It will be likewise limited to 400 copies.

As previously reported, Shooting Guns' score for the film, whose protagonist Lou Garou is an "alcoholic cop"/"rage-fuelled werewolf," features a "unique blend of heavy carpenter electronics mixed with Black Sabbath-esque riffs." Touches of country music are also peppered throughout their performance.

Down below, you'll find the premiere of the band's "Barn Burner" and "Suda," with both firing off on all cylinders via a mix of ramblin' beats and silver bullet-strong riffing.
