Though Shigeto admitted to being on a search for "the next step" upon unveiling his Intermission EP in 2015, the Ann Arbor producer has undoubtedly found it in announcing a new LP.

Titled The New Monday, Zachary Shigeto Saginaw's latest arrives October 6 through Ghostly International. The "dancefloor-driven" LP runs nine tracks in length and was inspired by a weekly DJ night the artist hosts with a group of friends in Detroit. The listen is said to find Saginaw "diving into the city's deep record culture, where the legacy of artists of the past help Saginaw embrace his own contributions."

"It's focused on a couple things and they all kind of come together to represent different things," he explained in a statement. "My time back in Detroit, back living in Michigan and spending time with a lot of kind of original people who have always been here, learning from them, hearing stories from them, being influenced by them, and inspired by them."

A taste of the record can be heard below with "Detroit Part II," which arrives alongside a video chronicling Saginaw's return to the city. The producer has also mapped out a fall tour, which you can find dates for below.
