Sharon Van Etten is about to embark on a tour as the opening act for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, so it should come as no surprise that the younger artist is familiar with the band's back catalogue. A recent radio performance for Australia's Triple J station proved her familiarity with Cave and co. via an acoustic take on their "People Ain't No Good."

The Boatman's Call cut is transformed from a piano-driven ballad into a gentle acoustic strummer, but Van Etten still sets up the basic premise that no matter the season, and no matter where you look, people ain't no good. Crushing.

The Bad Seeds' tour starts up in February, with dates set up in Toronto and Montreal in March. You can check out the details here.
