Sharon Van Etten impressed with last year's Are We There, earning her a slot as a guest on Ellen yesterday (January 15). But in addition to pulling an Oprah and giving everyone in the audience copies of the album, the singer-songwriter also surprised them by debuting a brand new tune.
Delivering rootsy Americana with a rock'n'roll tinge to it, the new track is called "I Don't Want to Let You Down" and was definitely a welcome surprise.
Are We There is currently out via Jagjaguwar, with the new tune slated to appear on a forthcoming, as-yet-unannounced EP. You can watch the inaugural television performance of "I Don't Want to Let You Down" below.
