While Canadian surf-strumental icons Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet were set to be treated to a vinyl reissue campaign in 2012, those plans primarily went up in smoke once Mammoth Cave Recording Co. shuttered its doors. Good news, though: Yep Roc is now stepping in to properly reissue the band's back catalogue.
The U.S. label will deliver CD, LP and digital packages behind a trio of Shadowy releases on September 16. This includes 1988's Savvy Show Stoppers, 1991's Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham, and 1993's Sport Fishin': The Lure of the Bait, The Luck of the Hook.
For the reissues, the recordings have been remastered from first-generation tapes, with engineer Peter J. Moore having handled the job. Each reissue preserves the running order of their original release, but also tacks on a handful of bonus cuts. For Sport Fishin', this include a pair of tracks cut between the Shadowy Men and B-52s frontman Fred Schneider.
The extras will appear on the CD, while vinyl fiends can grab the tracks via an included digital download card.
Additionally, the reissues feature expanded artwork and come with liner notes prepped by the likes of Bon Von Wheelie, Bry Webb and Scott McCaughey, as well as contextual essays written by the band themselves.

Tour dates are said to be on the horizon, with Sadies bassist Dallas Good subbing for original rhythm player Reid Diamond, who passed away in 2001 after a battle with cancer.
