If big hair is supposed to be full of secrets, then Sean Rowe is making a strong case for thick beards being full of raw emotion. We met with the New York crooner while he was in Toronto for Folk Alliance International and filmed two performances that you can watch on Exclaim! TV.
Rowe performed "Flying" from last year's The Salesman and the Shark, as well as a cover of Bob Dylan's "Girl From the North Country." Both show off his rambling, penetrating vocals in a way that appears effortless as he shifts from heartfelt whispers into booming laments.
