Published Jan 16, 2020Canadian avant popster Sean Nicholas Savage has revealed his next project will be a musical theatre production called Please Thrill Me.
The show is his first musical, and it will be staged at Montreal's La Chapelle Scènes Contemporaines between February 17 and March 1. It's produced in collaboration with Ballet Opéra Pantomime.
Please Thrill Me is directed by Sophie Cadieux and features performers like Jane Penny of TOPS, Rollie Pemberton (a.k.a. Cadence Weapon), Better Person and Lulu Hughes, as well as a live band. They'll perform in front of backdrops made to look like the painted skies of classic musical films.
According to the program, Please Thrill Me is "a rainy coming of age story, gently lulled by dreamy and deeply emotional pop music."
The first preview of the upcoming production arrives with the show's title track.
