Scotch Tapes is fast becoming one of the most prolific imprints in Canada. Label-head Al Bjornaa works full-time as a fisherman on Lake Superior, and in his one day off per week he works on the label from his cabin in Batchawana Bay. Armed with his cassette dubber, record lathe and dial-up Internet, he is able to release an endless amount of cassettes from noise, electronic and punk artists across the world. August 26 was no different, as eight new releases hit the Scotch store.

Some of these releases look to be the best from the label. Vancouver, BC noise rockers Shearing Pinx dropped Jazz Hunters, a collection of live tracks, demos and covers of Black Flag and Eric's Trip. Fellow Vancouverites Twin Crystals released a live tape, while Calgary indie rockers Faux Fur put out a split cassette with Los Angeles, CA's Ghost Animal.

The most exciting in the batch is Gobbl'd: Remixes Vol. 1, a collection of remixes from Edmonton, AB-based electronic monsters Gobble Gobble. The tape includes remixes of tracks from Silly Kissers, Diamond Rings, Cloud Nothings, Parlovr and many others.

For the other releases, including limited lathe cuts from Tropics and Rebecca's Room, head to the Scotch store here. Keep in mind, all of these releases are limited to 100 copies.
