Sarah Neufeld Unveils 'The Ridge' Solo Album

Way back in May, Arcade Fire member Sarah Neufeld slipped a teaser track online from an upcoming solo album. Though few other details existed beyond that at the time, she's now announced that the record, titled The Ridge, lands February 26 through Paper Bag.

While Neufeld had issued the Never were the way she was collaborative LP with Colin Stetson earlier this year, The Ridge will be the artist's first solo set since 2013's Hero Brother. Both of those records arrived through Constellation Records, while The Ridge marks Neufeld's first release with Paper Bag.

According to a press release, the eight-song collection has Neufeld shifting her focus from "classical minimalism and sepulchral ambience... into the world of rhythmic pop minimalism." Though the violin is still a big part Neufeld's approach, it's added that vocals are now more integrated into the mix. Neufeld's Arcade Fire bandmate Jeremy Gara also adds drums to the record.

Following the spring tease of "We've Got a Lot," Neufeld is now streaming opening title track "The Ridge." You'll find the expressive, symphonic rock piece down beneath the tracklisting. Neufeld is expected to tour the album throughout 2016, but dates have yet to be announced.

The Ridge:

1. The Ridge
2. We've Got A Lot
3. They All Came Down
4. The Glow
5. Chase The Bright and Burning
6. A Long Awaited Scar
7. From Our Animal
