This bro-country bro is not coming to our country, bro. Sam Hunt has cancelled his headlining performance at this year's Boots and Hearts festival, set to take place at Burl's Creek in the township of Oro-Medonte, ON, next weekend, citing "ongoing government restrictions."
The "Body Like a Backroad" singer's team issued a statement on his behalf, posting the following to social media yesterday (July 28):
Unfortunately, due to ongoing government restrictions, Sam Hunt will not be able to perform at the Boots & Hearts Music Festival on August 5. We had hoped that these restrictions would be lifted as the date approached, but now it is obvious that this will not happen. The Boots & Hearts Music Festival has provided a great replacement, and we all hope that you can continue to have a great weekend in [sic] Burl's Creek.
According to the Boots and Hearts Twitter account, Jake Owen will be stepping in to replace Hunt on the lineup for the Friday of the fest. The Sunday finale will feature an all-Canadian roster of women performing, with a headlining set from Shania Twain.
