Last year, Vancouver indie pop outfit Said the Whale switched things up a bit with an EP called Remixed, but now they're gearing up to test out some totally new material on a live tour in 2016.
The upcoming string of dates will see the band debuting songs that have yet to be written — though, the group promise to have new material in place by the time April rolls around. Dubbed "An Evening With," the tour will see Said the Whale delivering the new songs, followed by a set of more familiar musical fare.
"In a way, this tour serves as a deadline for us to finish some new songs," frontman Tyler Bancroft said in a press release. "In the past we'd return home from tour being able to play and relate to our news songs much better than when we first recorded them. So, this tour will be a way to test out new songs and work them out in a live setting before we head into the studio this summer."
The live shows kick off on April 18 in St. Catharines, ON, and will wind around Southern Ontario before heading west to Winnipeg and Saskatoon. A small streak of Alberta shows will be followed by a return to the band's home province, and the whole thing will come to a close on May 7 in Vancouver.

"It can be difficult winning over a crowd with all new material," Bancroft continued. "This is going to be an exciting challenge."
