The Sadies' Funniest Home Videos

For a touring band, having your van broken into has got to suck harder than NME priming the pump on the next Coldplay-of-the-month. Depending on the degree of the thievery, such a heinous act can be "a bullet in the head" for a band forced into economic hell overseas, or if the incident is relatively minor and captured on a security camera, it can become the impetus for a music video. At least that's what Canadian country rock champs the Sadies did to make the most of a shitty situation.

Taking to YouTube with footage of some scuzz-bag busting their van window and nabbing what's speculated to be a GPS, the Sadies synched up about a minute's worth of instrumental music to accompany the break-in and their own subsequent reaction to discovering the vandalised vehicle.

It's a clever, good-spirited spin on an all too common hazard for touring bands. Take a look and listen, and if anyone recognises the culprit, it'd be a good idea to get in touch with the Sadies'management.
