Russian Circles Return with New Album 'Blood Year'

They have also shared the song "Arluck" and mapped out a North American tour

Russian Circles have announced the band are returning with a new album. Titled Blood Year, the record arrives on August 2 via Sargent House. What's more, Russian Circles will be supporting it on a North American tour, complete with Canadian dates.

For a taste of the album, the Chicago trio have rolled out the new song "Arluck," which you can hear at the bottom of the page.

Blood Year follows the band's 2016 album Guidance and marks the group's seventh studio album overall. As a press release explains, Blood Year "is less a musical exploration and more a statement of authority, lest there be any doubt that Russian Circles remain a force to be reckoned with on the stage and in the studio."

Russian Circles returned to the studio with Converge hero Kurt Ballou to record Blood Year, but this time they tracked it in Chicago at Steve Albini's famed Electrical Audio.

As for that tour, the North American trek will kick off in September. In addition to hitting a pile of U.S. cities, Canadian stops include Toronto on October 20 and Montreal on October 21.
