Chicago instrumental post-metal trio Russian Circles are currently in the middle of a quick Canadian jaunt, but a newly announced stretch of dates will have the band back in Canada by August.
While the unit's current tour wraps up July 3 in Kansas City, MO, Russian Circles will be back on the road soon promoting their 2011 album Empros. The string of August shows has the act travelling with doom folk artist Chelsea Wolfe and Red Sparowes side-project Marriages.
The three acts will make it into Canada for two shows. The first takes place at Montreal's Il Motore on August 20, and the next night sees the groups gracing the stage at Lee's Palace in Toronto. You can see the full schedule down below.
As for Chelsea Wolfe, she'll be hitting up Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret for a headlining show on September 8 as well. A press release also reveals that the dark and stormy singer-songwriter is prepping two upcoming releases. The first is an acoustic collection of "once-orphaned songs" that were recorded in the woods of Northern California and at Wolfe's L.A. home. Though currently untitled, it's expected to arrive sometime in the fall.
A follow-up to 2011's Apokalips is also in the works, with producer Lars Stalfors (the Mars Volta, Marnie Stern) set to produce the allegedly more electronic outing. The album, Wolfe's third, will focus on themes of "the elements and natural disasters, humanity, love, desolation."
