Rapper/producer El-P and Atlanta spitter Killer Mike have collaborated in the past, most recently with on the pair's respective 2012 LPs Cancer4Cure and R.A.P. Music, but the artists have now formally teamed up as Run the Jewels. The duo delivered a preview of their debut track "Banana Clipper" today (April 9).
As you can hear in the player down below, the track starts up with some Psycho-styled staccato synth slashes before El-P brings forth a mighty boom bap. From there, the two friends trade bars, with Mike turning down other dude's beats ("I Said 'El-P didn't do it, so get the fuck out of here'"), while El-P talks about the evolution of the game. Seeing as this is labelled as a snippet, there's likely more in store from the pair on this particular track.
Plans for the project have yet to be revealed, but the SoundCloud description says to expect something to arrive this summer.
