Earlier this year, Toronto's Royal Mountain Records created a fund to assist its acts in getting treatment for mental health and addictions issues. Now, the label has announced plans to throw a benefit event for the fund as part of NXNE 2019.
In partnership with Exclaim! and NXNE, Royal Mountain will host an all-ages day party on June 8 at label headquarters (3365 Dundas St. W) to help the initiative.
The free event will feature performances by Dizzy, Jayy Grams, Haviah Mighty, Dusted, Luna Li and Boy Wonder. More artists are set to be announced — in addition to a surprise headliner.
The event will be hosted by Canadian actress Annie Murphy and CBC's Raina Douris. Food and drinks will be provided by provided by Mexicatessen Catering and Collective Arts Brewing, respectively.
Doors for the day party will open at 1 p.m., with the event running until 9 p.m. While admission is free with RSVP, donations to the Royal Mountain Mental Health Fund will be accepted at the door.
Attendees can RSVP by email at RSVP@royalmountainrecords.com.
Last month, NXNE revealed a portion of its 2019 lineup, featuring American Football, CupcakKe and more.
