Royal Canoe recently gave fans a chance to uncover their new album months early, but now the Winnipeg band have shared some information about the upcoming LP with everyone. The new record is titled Waver, and it will arrive on January 25 via Paper Bag Records.
A press release describes the new material as a "miraged-out, ominous" sonic landscape that plays with "the absurdity of modern life," all the while retaining the band's beat-driven momentum.
"Whenever we begin working on a new album we throw everything out, even if it worked last time, just so we have no chance to rest on our laurels," singer Matt Peters said in a statement. "On Waver we set out to create leaner arrangements and clearer melodies — less between us and the listener."
