On March 1, veteran Canuck songwriter Ron Sexsmith will release Long Player Late Bloomer, which was recorded with mega-producer Bob Rock. Once it's out, Sexsmith will be hitting the road, as he has booked a world tour that will last until May.
After a few scattered dates in the U.S. in January and February, the intensive touring will begin in March. The North American run includes plenty of Canadian shows, with two separate mini-tours of Ontario, plus additional dates in Western and Atlantic Canada. Interestingly, Sexsmith's current schedule has him playing two separate cities (Toronto and Kingston) on March 3.
Once the North American jaunt is over, the songwriter will head to Europe for a handful of shows. According to a press release, these are just the "initial dates" of a more extensive world tour.
Diehard fans will want to head over to RonSexsmith.com and pick up the limited-edition version of Long Player Late Bloomer, which comes with a bonus DVD containing 14 performance clips from two TV specials: "Late Bloomer and "Long Player." The set also includes a lithograph, and the first 200 copies will be signed.
