Now, in its third year, Vancouver Island's folk-tinged Rock of the Woods festival is gaining momentum as a destination event each summer. This year looks no different, with a solid lineup announcement.

Performers announced for the fest include the Cave Singers, Monophonics, Hannah Georgas, Jon and Roy, Acres of Lions, Man Made Lakes, Juice, Sunhawk, the Grass Tracks, Deep Sea Gypsies, and the Royal Canadians. A press release promises "a few more surprises to come as the festival gets closer."

"As always, we wanted to showcase the best of the best, whether they are bands that have played intimate shows in the Cowichan Valley or packed venues at South by Southwest," said founder David Bain.

Rock of the Woods runs from July 26 to 28 in Glenora, which is located in the Cowichan Valley. Tickets for the festival weekend are $125 if you're paying for a camping pass and $100 if you just want to come for the music. You can also buy tickets for single-day access. Those are available here.
