Robyn Reveals Remix Project

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 28, 2016

Swedish pop wonder Robyn has announced she'll be unveiling some new remixes at a trio of upcoming North American festival appearances, including Toronto's Field Trip event. The series of tweaked-up tracks were prepped by the likes of French duo Cassius, Wolfgang Voigt and Axel Bowman, among others.

Robyn announced her RMX/RBN project today (May 28), explaining in a Facebook post: "I've asked people whose music I love to remix my old music for the coming live shows."

The first performance is tonight at Boston Calling. The other remix-geared sets take place at New York's Governors Ball and her June 5 appearance at Field Trip.

The material tackled covers much of Robyn's career, reaching as far back as her 1999 sophomore release My Truth via Mr. Tophat's remix of "Main Thing." Elsewhere, Wolfgang Voigt touches up Robyn's guest appearance on Kindness's Otherness number "Who Do You Love," while Cassius approach independence anthem "Dancing on My Own."

Robyn explained of RMX/RBN in a statement:

Remixes make me listen to a song in a different way; they stretch you out as a listener and leave space for other things that a pop song usually doesn't. I hope to be able to share this experience with my audiences at Governor's Ball, Boston Calling, and Field Trip over the next week and just dancing together…
