Riot Fest was originally founded in Chicago, but the annual music event has expanded as of late, with Toronto hosting instalments in the last couple of years. Late this summer, Riot Fest will once again be coming to Big Smoke, and the organizers have now confirmed this year's lineup.

The show will take place at Downsview Park on September 6 and 7. The lineup includes lots of Canadian talent, including City and Colour, Death From Above 1979, the New Pornographers, Metric, Tokyo Police Club, Billy Talent, Stars, Mounties and PUP.

As for the international acts, they include the Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, the National, Rise Against, Thurston Moore, the Afghan Whigs, Bob Mould, Buzzcocks, Social Distortion, Die Antwoord, Taking Back Sunday, Dropkick Murphys, Paul Weller, AWOLNATION, Alkaline Trio, Bring Me the Horizon, Glassjaw, New Found Glory, Clutch, Title Fight, Lucero, Circa Survive and more.

The event aims to be more than just a music festival: it's billed as Riot Fest & Expo, and a press release promises food, rides, attractions and sideshow performers.

Festival founder Michael Petryshyn said in a statement, "Ever since I was a young kid living in Buffalo, Ontario was a second home to me where I caught my musical bearings and was turned on to everything from the Clash to the Sex Pistols to the Viletones and Diodes. Like I tell everyone, Toronto is one of the greatest cities in the world, from its food to culture, but most importantly, to me, the Toronto bands who've created music that matters."

Tickets go on sale on May 10 at 10 a.m. EDT. Peruse the purchasing options at Ticketweb.

Riot Fest will also touch down in Chicago on September 12-14 and Denver on September 19-21.
