Niagara region rockers Revive the Rose have unveiled a new collaboration with Toronto-based frontwoman Amy Gabba, who releases her ska-punk material alongside backing band, the Almost Famous. They've linked up on a new single called "Live My Best Life," complete with a DIY music video — and Exclaim! has the official premiere.
Revive the Rose had reached out to Gabba back in 2020 in their pursuit of recording some pandemic-era duets while playing live wasn't an option. A cover song never came into fruition, but the conversation between the Ontarians kept rolling into 2021. When Gabba suggested writing an original song together, Andy C unearthed a RTR demo that had a blend of punk-rock and ska in alignment with the sonic realm of Gabba's previous releases. "Live My Best Life" felt like the perfect fit for both artists.
Today they're dropping the single as a split-release with Gabba's recent track "Fuck You Covid." What's more, they've also shared a DIY skatepark music video filmed by Nicholas Rizzo to match!
In the clip, Revive the Rose and Gabba really do seem to be living their best life, rocking out together on a summer day. A few skaters even make it in the background as the musicians perform from inside of a bowl ramp. Warped Tour (RIP) vibes, anyone?
