Rehasher

Off Key Melodies

BY Sam SutherlandPublished Oct 1, 2004

Led by Less Than Jake co-front-man Roger, Rehasher bear more than a passing resemblance to the more punk moments from LTJ’s past. Sadly, about one million times better than anything Less Than Jake have produced in a long time, Off Key Melodies is non-stop rock from start to finish. Book-ended by the killer opener "Lift!” and a blistering cover of Bowie’s "Suffragette City,” the record does not let up from 0:00, and with ten songs clocking in just over 20 minutes, it doesn’t even have time to. Though Rehasher will undoubtedly fail to escape the "members of Less Than Jake” tagline, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. For anyone who has trouble remembering the greatness of LTJ years gone by, this is pleasant, ass-kicking reminder.
