Set to hold its 2016 event in Montreal this fall, organizers behind Red Bull Music Academy have lifted the curtain on the programming for this year's event. Running from September 24 to October 28, the Academy has lined up a virtual reality exhibition, underwater listening experience, a celebration of Montreal disco and more.

Björk is set to top the bill with a virtual reality exhibition revolving around her visual output starting October 15. The exhibit will be hosted at the DHC/ART Foundation for Contemporary Art, featuring all five of the Iceland native's VR music videos, her interactive app for 2011's Biophilia and screenings of music videos from her back catalogue. What's more, she's set to DJ two back-to-back Academy evenings during the month.

Moving beyond the Phi Centre, some notable names will be a part of other events throughout the historic city. Iggy Pop will take part in a speaking engagement at Canada's oldest theatre Ludger-Duvernay with music journalist Carl Wilson, while Polaris Music Prize winners Fucked Up and Tanya Tagaq will collaborate with live performance at intimate concert hall La Tulipe.

Attendees will also be treated to a unique listening experience from inside Montreal's iconic pool, with a custom-built underwater sound system featuring a commissioned piece from Lorenzo Senni, as well as sets from Dopplereffekt and DJ Stingray.

RBMA signature event Drone Activity in Progress will also return this year, focusing on metal, hardcore and related forms of experimental, noise and drone music with pewrformances from Tim Hecker and Melanie Mongeon and Topon Das of Fuck the Facts, marking their first show as a duo.

Other events include the revival of Montreal's Turbo Crunk party with the founding crew of Jacques Greene, 247esp, Lunice and Ango, a collaborative performance between pianist Jean-Michel Blais and CFCF, a special collaborative concert with Academy participants led by Chilly Gonzales, as well as club performances from the Black Madonna, RP Boo and more.

Rounding off a long list of highlights, there will also be performances from Suzanne Ciani, Tiga, Pauline Oliveros, Joan La Barbara and Theo Parrish, among others.

Tickets go on sale August 23. Further information on all events can be found at the Red Bull Music Academy's official website.
