Raveonettes Swap Foos For European Tour

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jun 2, 2008

Lustful Danes the Raveonettes have announced their summer tour dates, but more importantly a sister swap. The band’s blond half, Sharin Foo, will hold down the fort in L.A. while her sister Louise joins the duo’s Sune Rose Wagner on stage, effectively switching up 50 percent of the band’s line-up.

According to the group, Sharin plans to sit this tour out to take care of her little bun in the oven. She also plans to get a creative leg up on Wagner and start working on the band’s follow-up to the Jesus and Mary Chain-worshipping Lust Lust Lust.

As for sister Louise, she is no stranger to the arts. She is a founding member of the collective Ohmarymary, which directed the Raveonettes video "Aly Walk With Me,” and is also deeply involved in the Copenhagen music scene (or so the press release tells us).

Giving this story a strange little twist, Sharin’s MySpace page lists her real name as Louise Sharin Fosberg (Foo). Make what you will of that little piece of cryptic MySpace trickery.

Here are the Raveonettes’ Foo-swapin’ tour dates:

6/5 Skive Denmark, Skive Beach Party
6/21 Pasadena CA, Make Music Pasadena
7/2 Belgrade Serbia, Green Fest
7/3 Bilbao Spain, Bilbao BBK Live Festival
7/4 Roskilde Denmark, Roskilde Festival
7/18 Barcelona Spain, Summercase Festival
7/19 Madrid Spain, Summercase Festival
7/20 Dour Belgium, Dour Festival
7/23 Nyon Switzerland, Paleo Festival
