Radiohead, Beck, Coldplay, Oasis, New Order and a host of others will be featured performing cover tunes on the retrospective War Child: 10, a new charity comp set to be released December 1 by Universal.

The compilation features 12 artists covering classic songs by likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Patti Smith and others, with many tracks, such as those by Radiohead and Beck, having appeared on previous War Child collections.

A group entitled Friends of the War Child, featuring the Cliks' Lucas Silveira, Chantal Kreviazuk, Liam Titcomb and Shiloh, do a newly recorded rendition of Smith's "People Have the Power." And of particular interest is Jimmy Eat World's surprisingly epic cover of the Prodigy's "Firestarter," which really has to be heard to be believed.

Also on the compilation are the Kooks, Muse, Wolfmother, Beth Orton, and Sy'ra featuring A.U.C.A.Y.D.

The release coincides with War Child's tenth anniversary in Canada. The international charity supports children affected by war in developing countries such as Afghanistan, Sudan, Uganda, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia and Sri Lanka.

All proceeds from the album sales will be donated to War Child to help their promotion of children's rights, education and poverty reduction.
