R. Kelly Penning 'Trapped in the Closet' Book

Last week, unstoppable R&B oddity R. Kelly uncovered another 10 video chapters to his beloved and bizarre "hip-hopera" Trapped in the Closet and teased that a Broadway musical of the serialized musical drama was on the way. The marketing genius has now announced that, unsurprisingly, there's a book in the works as well.

An interview with Co. Create found Kelly confirming the latest addition to the multimedia project, noting that the Trapped in the Closet tome being promoted by his Rev. Mosley James Evans character in a fake infomercial buried in the latest cycle of chapters isn't itself a work of fiction.

"The Trapped in the Closet book you see as an infomercial in the new chapters is a book that's on its way, that I'm writing," Kelly said, hinting that there's so much more back story to explore, meaning the book will be a prequel. "I know where Chuck was before he met Rufus. I know what was happening before they actually met. I know what happened with Bridget and the midget and everybody else's situation.

"So I feel like the fans have supported Trapped in the Closet, so I feel like it's time to introduce them to these people before what they saw. It's the prequel meeting the sequel. You'll get to find out a lot of things you don't know, or that you can't know, unless you read the book or unless I tell you — so I decided to do a book on it."

On top of the prequel, don't forget that Kels recently stated that "Trapped in the Closet is pretty much forever" and promised that there will be countless chapters on the way. It'd be overkill if it weren't so damn addictive.
