Tom Diaz was a founding vocalist of post-emo band the World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, and sadly he has passed away.
The band announced the news on Facebook, writing, "We are incredibly heartbroken about the passing of Tom Diaz. He was an extremely talented artist, with such a huge amount of musicality. On top of all of that, he was an incredible friend."
Diaz was in the band from 2009 to 2012, and played on the band's early EPs and the 2013 debut album Whenever, If Ever. He left the band due to medical issues. The cause of his death has not been publicly revealed, and it's unclear if it's related to those medical issues.
His family has said that any donations can be made to Danielson, CT's Friends of Assisi Food Pantry. The band shared a performance video of "To the Janitor, to the King."
