A new Ariana Grande song recently made a lot of R.E.M. fans unnecessarily angry, but the announcement of a sprawling new box set from the band should soothe those feelings just fine.

The career-spanning R.E.M. at the BBC box set will collect the band's sessions recorded for BBC Radio, in addition to those recorded with iconic DJ John Peel.

Arriving through Craft Recordings on October 19, the release will be available as a Super Deluxe 8-CD/1-DVD box set, in addition to 2-CD and 2-LP editions.

Highlights include the band's headlining set at Glastonbury 1999, their Accelerating Backwards documentary and audio from the group's 1995 sets at the Milton Keynes National Bowl.

Alongside the announcement, R.E.M. have shared a recording of "Losing My Religion" done for Radio 1 in 1991. Hear that below, and read our Essential Guide to the work of R.E.M. here.

The Super Deluxe box set and 2-LP editions of R.E.M. at the BBC are available for pre-order here, where you can also find the tracklists to all versions of the release.
