As PUP hit the road, they have become the latest in a growing list of bands to ask that fans remain masked and get vaccinated, even as government mandates lift.
In a post on social media, the band wrote that they are "so stoked to be back playing in front of crowds again." The message continues, "We humbly ask that everyone attending our shows exercise commitment to public health & safety: please wear masks, get vaccinated, & respect each others' choices."
The message doesn't explicitly mention the financial risks of a band member testing positive, resulting in cancelled shows — an argument previously made by SASAMI, Sparks and the Weather Station — but it does state, "We certainly don't want to get sick & don't want any of y'all getting sick either."
PUP will release THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND on April 1. See their upcoming tour schedule here.
