PUP Announce 'The Dream Is Over' LP, Drop New Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 30, 2016

PUP have been teasing their upcoming sophomore album with the new single and video for "DVP," and now they've finally offered up some firm details on its expected arrival. Titled The Dream Is Over, the new LP will land on May 27 through SideOneDummy.

The 10-song set comes after a couple of years that saw the band play 250 shows — an impressive feat that wrecked havoc on frontman Stefan Babcock's vocal cords, forcing him to pause and recuperate from a hemorrhaging cyst. A doctor's advice to quit music provided the dramatic title for the upcoming record.

Thankfully, for now, Babcock's youthful defiance has led him and the band to keep plugging away, and in addition to the record's announcement, the band have offered up some new visuals for the album opener "If This Tour Doesn't Kill You, I Will."

Speaking to Noisey, Babcock assured fans that the song's sentiment isn't an accurate representation of how PUP members feel about each other (at least, not all of the time).

"We get along really great, but we're in a van together all the time, we sleep on floors next to each other every night," he said. "For the most part, it's really awesome, but once in a while… it's hard."

Those more trying times take up the screen time in the new clip, and you can scroll past the tracklisting for The Dream Is Over to give it a watch.
