Puig Destroyer Sliding Debut LP into Homes this September

Following a pair of independent EP releases, baseball-themed grinders Puig Destroyer have announced they'll knock a full-length out of the park this fall through new label home No Sleep Records. The band's first proper LP is self-titled and arrives September 20, which just so happens to be the day that the MLB post-season starts up. The outing is said to feature 20 "bat-crackin' tracks" that once again explore life inside the baseball diamond via tracks like "No Hitter," "Call to the Bullpen," "Stealing Signs" and more. Additionally, "Underdog" is described as a bench-clearing, motivational ass-kicker.
Down below you'll find the album's "Mike Trout," a vicious salute the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mike Trout that mixes fastball blast beats with the back end's chaw-thick groove.
As previously reported, Puig Destroyer features members of Thrice and Curl Up and Die. The band name itself is a pun-laced portmanteau celebrating Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim slugger Yasiel Puig and grind outfit Pig Destroyer. Both their self-titled debut and follow-up effort Wait for Spring arrived in 2013.
