Primus to Kick Off North American Tour in Toronto

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 3, 2010

Fans of slap bass solos, brace yourselves: alt-prog weirdos Primus will be reconvening this summer for their first headlining tour since 2006, and they're coming to Canada.

Les Claypool and co. will spend three weeks on the road, starting in Toronto on July 27. This 2010 incarnation of the group will reportedly include drummer Jay Lane, who was a member of the band for several years prior to their early-'90s breakthrough.

After the tour is wrapped up, Primus are planning to enter the studio to work on a new album. If this comes to pass, it will be the first release from the band since 2006's greatest hits compilation, They Can't All Be Zingers, and the first new material since 1999's Antipop.

The ticket pre-sale for the tour is open now. The password is Primusrox.
