Pop Montreal Reveals Initial 2014 Lineup with Panda Bear, Ronnie Spector, Twin Shadow, Sheryl Crow

Pop Montreal is coming up yet again this September, and today (June 4) festival organizers revealed their first batch of headliners. By the looks of things, the 13th annual event, which takes place across Montreal from September 17 to 21, may boast the fest's most diverse lineup yet.

Notable acts at the festival include Animal Collective member and renowned solo artist Panda Bear, cult heroes Donnie & Joe Emerson, Ronettes' legend Ronnie Spector, veteran songwriter Suzanne Vega, Mark Kozelek's Sun Kil Moon project and '80s pop revivalist Twin Shadow. The fest even includes a performance from alt-pop singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow.

Along with those acts, the initial batch of artists is rounded out by the following:

Alden Penner, Blues Control, Bomba Estéreo, Calypso Rose & Kobo Town, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Les CB's, Les Deuxluxes, Diane Cluck, DJ Food, DJ Cheeba & Moneyshot, Dot Wiggins Band, Grey Lands, Hailu Mergia & Low Mentality, J.J. Fad, Jamboree, Gazoline featuring Simon des Lutins, Kaaris, Katie Moore, Kid Congo Powers & The Pink Monkey Birds, Lizzo, Lydia Ainsworth, Mozart's Sister, Mutual Benefit, Ought, Pharis & Jason Romero, Philémon Cimon, PS I Love You, Shonen Knife, Solids, the Rural Alberta Advantage, the Wooden Sky, Timber Timbre, TOPS, Trust, Twin Shadow, Ty Segall, Why?, Wand, Zébulon

The festival will also welcome Steve Albini, who will present both a recording workshop and a cooking workshop for POP Symposium.

Prior to the main festival, however, organizers will kick things off with a free party at Place Émilie-Gamelin on August 27. That will be headlined by A Tribe Called Red.
