BC's Ponderosa Fest Returns with Timber Timbre, Black Mountain, the Pack A.D. for 2016 Edition

Rebounding from last year's cancellation of the Ponderosa Arts & Music Festival —owing to tragic wildfires affecting the area — organizers for the event in Rock Creek, BC, have revealed the lineup details for its grand return this August.

As previously reported, the festival is set to run from August 19 to 21. Last night (May 6), a lineup announcement party was held at Vancouver's Anza Club, where it was revealed that headliners this year include doom-wop wonders Timber Timbre, psych-stoner vets Black Mountain and rock duo the Pack A.D.

Also joining the party over the course of the weekend will be the Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer, Royal Canoe, Louise Burns, Stickybuds, the Belle Game, Andrew Judah, Cam Penner, Herald Nix, Giraffe Aftermath and the Boom Booms. More artists are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Earlybird passes for Ponderosa have already sold out, but Tier 1 Weekend Passes are currently on sale for $129. In addition to the performances, the fee includes three nights on the campsite, pancake breakfasts, free parking, showers, yoga sessions, and helicopter tours of the surrounding Kettle Valley.

An extra $27 will grant you access to riverside camping.

This year, proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Rock Creek and Westbridge Needs fund, which assists people affected by last year's wild fires.

"Last year's cancellation was difficult to say the least, but it has motivated us even more to come back even stronger this year," festival co-founder Kia Zahrabi had previously said in a statement. "Quality music, chill vibes, awesome value, maximum freshness — that's what Ponderosa is, and this year our fans have an added opportunity to directly help a community that was hit by the worst forest fire they've seen in over 30 years."
