Polyphonic Spree Heading to Uganda with La Blogotheque for Charity Mission Documentary

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jan 29, 2010

Besides their robes, large congregation of musicians and mystical leader, the Polyphonic Spree are one step closer to becoming their own religion with a missionary trip to Africa. The large ensemble have revealed that they'll be heading to Uganda to help Invisible Children, a charitable outreach for Ugandan children forced into the army.

The band will join two yet-to-be-determined bands in travelling to Uganda and playing in unfamiliar environments. The sets will be filmed by forward-thinking French videographers La Blogotheque. From there, a DVD will be released to raise funds and awareness for the organization.

To make the film, the organizers will need to raise $20,000 U.S. by March 10. To do so, they've signed up with Kickstarter. If you'd like to contribute to this project, you can do so here. Depending on how much you pledge, you could receive anything from a digital download to a personalized Ugandan notebook.
