PJ Harvey

"Bitter Branches" / "Hanging in the Wire" / "The Glorious Land"

Though the release of PJ Harvey's eighth effort, Let England Shake, is just over a month away, we've already been treated to a couple of cuts off the album. First came the ska-tinged "Written on the Forehead," then we got the video for "The Last Living Rose" and now we have three more cuts to placate our ravenous appetites.

Antiquiet is currently hosting streams of album tracks "Bitter Branches," "Hanging in the Wire" and "The Glorious Land." The first track rumbles along on low-key, tribal thumps, smarmy gutter blues licks and Harvey's haunting wail. "Hanging in the Wire" plays it cool with a nimble samba beat, while "The Glorious Land" praises fields of wheat and corn atop some uncomfortable bugle blasts.

You can check out all three tracks over here.

As previously noted, Let England Shake comes out February 15 via Vagrant.
