French indie heroes Phoenix are finally returning to our lives. While there is no album announcement so far, the band have confirmed the new single "Identical" arrives on Wednesday (August 19).

Over the last few days, the band began teasing the new track, eventually showing a short clip of a Phoenix shirt getting set aflame. Backing the clip is what we can only assume is "Identical."

Check it out for yourself below.

Phoenix's last album arrived way back in 2017 with Ti Amo, meaning new material from the band has been a long time coming. In December, the group hinted they were back working on new material in Motorbass, the Paris studio owned by late collaborator Phillippe Zdar.

In tribute post to Zdar last year, the band wrote: "Of course, our music owes so much to him, he who spent hundreds and hundreds of hours lifting us up with the breath of his talent, his enthusiasm and his kindness. But much more, he taught us that you could raise your life, Friendship, Love to the rank of major art. In all these areas he was an absolute genius."
