Phaseone

"Bianca" / "Arsenal Magnolia"

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 25, 2013

St. Louis-raised/Brooklyn-based electronic artist Phaseone (aka Andrew Jernigan) has been producing and making beats for around a decade, and next month he will release his album If I Tell U through Williams Street Records. He has offered up a preview of this forthcoming collection by sharing a pair of album cuts.

"Bianca" is a slo-mo electronic pop number that merges expansive synths with sparsely fluttering rhythms and bleary vocals. The all-instrumental "Arsenal Magnolia" is similarly low key, as a quiet passage of Boards of Canada-style noodling gives way to beats and eerie synth chords while occasionally drifting back into ambience.

Listen to those songs, along with the previously shared songs "Blood Spirit I" and "Hunter," below.

If I Tell U, which is out on double-LP on May 28, is available to pre-order here.
