Peter Morén Lines Up New Swedish-Language Solo LP

Besides his work with Peter, Bjorn and John, Peter Morén is also working on his own solo career. Following 2008's The Last Tycoon, the Swedish-based singer-songwriter has now prepared a new solo album. However, this time around, he'll be singing the whole thing in Swedish.

As Pitchfork reports, the album is called I Spåren Av Tåren, which he says means "track of tears." Back in December, Morén explained his motivation for not using English, saying, "I've never seriously tried writing in Swedish before, even though it's my mother-tounge [sic]. It opens up a whole new field of references to Swedish culture and of course it enables you to express yourself more freely."

I Spåren Av Tåren features musical help from Lykke Li drummer Lars Skoglund. Two tracks from the album are available on Morén's MySpace page, and a video for "Esther" can be streamed below. The album will be released in Europe on March 3, though the record does not yet have a North American release date.

Morén has also said that PB&J will begin work on their next album this spring, which means there's a chance we'll be seeing that this year as well.
